The Kin Folk Said

It’s Monday, June 29, 2009 and this sucks. It’s only 9:51 and I’ve had at least 22 calls in the support queue and 5 or 6 on my direct line.

I don’t like busy. Busy make me grumpy. Busy makes me not want to be here, especially when the cleavage is (all but one) covered up like it is today.

And it’s hot in my office again. I can stay at home and be hot. I of course won’t, but I could.

In other news, it looks like at least the political pundits are reading my blog and cautioning President Obama against engaging in a war of words with Iranian President Ahmadinejad. And it looks like he might just be listening. In many ways, Ahmadinejad reminds of me of a little asshat in my high school. His name was Brian something and despite being a senior, puberty still had not found him. To compensate, he would run his mouth until someone punched him, shoved him in a locker or threw him in a dumpster.

He’d then beat feet to the principle’s office and get you jammed up for being a bully. Fortunately, “The Prince” quickly saw this guy as someone who thrived on being the victim and even suspended him for provoking a fight. Dunno why, but Ahmadinejad just reminds me of that guy. Seems like he WANTS his ass kicked so he can tell everyone else what a bully the US is.

We have a visitor from the corporate Unimatrix. The Head Cheese of our regional unimatrix is on vacation in Montana and by dropping by the Billings and Bozeman offices, he gets to write off his family vacation as a business trip. So, how ‘bout you draw nigh unto me and we’ll talk about values and that kind of bullshit.

In other news, it looks like Healthcare Reform will be the next windmill President Obama tilts at. I just ask one thing and one thing only; Leave me alone! While my employer offers adequate coverage plans, they’re not as good as the one my wife’s employer offers. We GOT coverage, Mister President. We GOT coverage that meets our needs at a price we can afford. My principle fear is that by dipping your oar into this thing, you’re gonna wreck what I got in order to provide something to someone who has it not.

We earned ours and now someone wants to tax THAT too in order to GIVE it to someone who has not earned it. Don’t get me wrong. I genuinely feel for people who can’t afford proper health care. I don’t think for one second the answer is to simply GIVE them something they’ve neither earned or deserve. Where’s the incentive to climb up out of the gutter if the gutter is as well appointed as where the rest of us live? Where’s the incentive to work to better yourself when the government will better your lot in life sans ANY effort on your part? I’m almost to the point where I want to quit this job thing and go on public assistance. No, I won’t be living large, but I won’t have to lift so much as a finger to get enough to get by on.

Dunno why but today has spewed. Here I spent all weekend goofing off and not caring much about anything at all, the all of a sudden, WHAM! Everyone calling me with needs! It’s like I’m beset with thousands of blood-sucking parasites, all wanting to chug-a-lug my blood all at once.

A small departure from today’s theme, but I think it’s funny:

So that’s why today’s blog is so short when there probably is tons of good stuff to blog about. But just when it looks like we’re gonna go a whole day without President Obama putting his foot in our collective mouth, we get him running his mouth about the military coup in Honduras.

“President Obama on Monday declared that the United States still considers Manuel Zelaya to be the president of Honduras and assailed the coup that forced him into exile as “not legal,” deepening the chasm between the Central American nation and much of the rest of the world. “

Dammit! If we don’t have any business in Iran’s internal squabbling, we damned sure don’t have any in Honduras. When is this guy gonna figure it out? He just needs to, for just a few international upskuttles, sit on his hands and keep his yap shut.

That’s it for today. Gonna push this up and spend the rest of shift contemplating pomegranates.
