Shutters

It’s Friday, January 15, 2010 and not a moment too soon.

I like bacon.

I don’t like Nancy Pelosi. I in fact can think of nothing about her that I find in any way appealing.

With most democrats, I wonder if they are truly evil or just stupid. With her it’s a no-brainer.

This behind closed door crap with the healthcare “reform” bill isn’t at all the “transparency” we were promised during the campaign, but as Pelosi correctly points out: “There were a number of things he [Obama] was for on the campaign trail.”

While I was surprised she said that, I wasn’t at all surprised with the casual, flippant way the question (how come the negotiations about healthcare reform aren’t being televised?) was blown off. When you have a lock on power, you can say/do whatever you want and no one can hold you to a promise.

Right now, I wish I was this beta-tester:

Come on! It can’t be THAT boring!

In other news, I got a call from one of those “push poll” things. Basically, the questions were about whether or not I supported the destruction of our economy. I’m of course very much opposed to that sort of thing, but that wasn’t what the “poll” was measuring. The first question was something like” “Given that President Obama’s health care plan will cost over a trillion dollars, do you support bankrupting our economy in order to provide healthcare to less than 11 percent of our citizens?”
Come on. Who in their right mind is in favor of that? Even the most devout Obamanista would be against bankrupting the economy.

It’s a push poll. It’s not designed to gather opinion but rather to push an opinion. Yes, Obama’s plan will cost a trillion bucks. Yes, Obama’s plan will hurt (maybe ‘bankrupt’ is too strong a word) the economy. And yes, this helps out not even a quarter of our population. So no, I’m not in favor of it.

But these “pollsters” will report that 99% of respondents oppose the plan from fears that it’ll bankrupt the economy. Which isn’t why I oppose it at all. I oppose it because it’s a government take-over of the health insurance industry and their piles of dough.

So I asked the lady; Has anyone responded that they are actually in favor of bankrupting the economy. Naturally, no one had. The conversation pretty much degraded into a “bartle doo fest.” This is why we have to take polling data with a huge grain of salt. Unless the poll states verbatim, what the questions were, you can’t trust the results.

Damn, but this day is dragging ass. Jen and Rynee switched desks this morning, so now I have two hotties in my window. Bobbi hides behind her monitor all day or she’d count too.

Well, a nice looking weekend coming up. Everyone take care, have some fun and we’ll meet back here for some laughs.
