Not so- One guy did, in fact, pull up in the driveway and honk for me… Do you not remember the guy you pulled through his car window in our driveway? You talked to him and my date night went to hell. He sat a seat away from me in the movie theater and shook my hand at the end of the night because he “respected me.”
He then would go the other way in the hallways at school rather than speak to me.
I was mad then, but I do appreciate it now.

I can’t find the story now, but during some assignment in school I read a newspaper article talking about how a orchard in Oregon in an area with an unreal unemployment rate (some factory had closed down and half the town was out of work, one of those deals) had decided that they weren’t going to hire any illegal immigrants to pick their fruit that year, saving those jobs for locals who were out of work. The fruit rotted on the trees that year.
